15 sts and 21 rows = 10cm x 10cm in Stockinette stitch with 5mm needles

SIZES: Child [Adult S] to fit head circumference: 18 in [21 in]
BRIM
**US 6/4 mm 12 in circular needle; MC yarn**
Cast on 68 [84] st, cast on 1 extra st, slip first st on left-hand needle purl wise to right-hand needle, take the now 2nd st on right-hand needle and bind off the st just slipped, pass the sl st back to the left hand needle. Place marker.
Rnd 1-11: *K1, P1* around.
HAT BODY
**US 8/5 mm 12 in circular needle; MC and CC yarn**
Rnd 1-11: [For Adult size, M1] *K around following the diagram and color changes* 4 [5] times for each row.
Rnd 12+: K around with MC until hat measures 5.5 [6] inches from cast on edge.
DECREASE
Rnd 1: *ssk, k 13, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 2: Knit around.
Rnd 3: *ssk, k 11, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 4: Knit around.
Rnd 5: *ssk, k 9, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 6: Knit around.
Rnd 7: *ssk, k 7, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 8: Knit around.
Rnd 9: *ssk, k 5, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 10: Knit around.
Rnd 11: *ssk, k 3, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 12: Knit around.
Rnd 13: *ssk, k 1, k2tog* 4 [5] times.
Rnd 14: Knit around.
F/O and weave in ends.
POM-POM
Use the pompom maker and follow directions to make pompom.
